(One of my UCCS students during her spring project where she studied  gender roles in the Boston area and how advertising might affect that.)

The Do Now is a short assignment to keep the students quiet and get them ready to think about the lesson of the day. I generally make it a critical thinking assignment. We discuss the topic every day, but rarely do I collect it. I ask the students to keep them and if the have each one from the semester at the close of the semester I give them extra credit on an end of semester test or project.

The agenda below as well as the Do Now is from a Macbeth unit I did when teaching English with the seventh grade.

Choose any character from Macbeth. With evidence from the book explain how that character interacts with others from the play. What is the character’s personality like? How has is changed from the beginning of the play? How may it change by the end of the story? This should be a three paragraph essay. *As always spelling and grammar count!
